Why is it that it's so much easier to do things if you pay for doing them? I'm talking about exercise classes, art classes, getting out to ski, learning about something...
We buy season passes to our ski area every year. I set a minimum number of days I need to ski to break even, and also a goal for how often I want to get out there. We've both met our break even, which makes buying the passes worthwhile. I don't, however, think I'm going to make my goal.
My class card expired where I attend exercise classes. During the winter, skiing gets in the way of fitness classes. I was sure I'd do my exercises on my own at home, so I didn't refill my card. NOT!!! And now I'm stiff and achy, despite the skiing. Time to pay...
I'm supposed to be "doing" art every Tuesday. I've been fiddling around with organizing my stuff, but hadn't picked up a pencil or brush in weeks. I registered for an online course -- which I paid for -- and I've already completed four lessons and there are four completed pages in my course sketchbook.
My husband has been trying for years to organize the 7,000+ photographs he has stored on his computer. Last weekend, he took a course -- which he paid for -- to learn how to use Adobe Lightroom. Son of a gun!!!
